Velayudham (Tamil: வேலாயுதம்) is an upcoming Tamil film directed by M. Raja. The film stars Vijay and Genelia D'Souza playing the lead roles while Hansika Motwani and Saranya Mohan portray other pivotal roles. The film was formally launched on July 15, 2010 with its photo shoots taken earlier during the month. Produced by V. Ravichandran's Aascar Films, the film is currently in its filming stage and expected to release on Vijay's birthday (June 22, 2011).

Soundtrack

The film's soundtrack, is composed by Vijay Antony, who previously scored Vijay's Vettaikaaran. A bit of song was sung by Vijay in Hello FM; the title of the song is "Sonna Puriyathu". A theme song was released during Velayutham movie launch titled "Vela Vela Velayutham", sung by Vijay Antony.
